Tweaks

Made some tweaks to lighting and color, didn't have much time today to work.

Almost there, just a few more iterations

once I get the lighting and material for the tarp right.  I'll finish up the props.




I also need to tweak the rendercam, things look much more bloomy for some reason.

bad news, but i'm recovering

I was trying to clone my scene in unreal 4, not going to blame anyone around here who is less than 3 feet tall but, let's just say I accidentally leaned into the delete selection and clicked it.

So I had to recreate the scene from scratch in Unreal 4.  A lot of the materials are not imported yet, but I'm getting there.  Here's where I'm at.


Made the tarp material again, I think it came out better this time seeing as I've been fussing with it for a while.



 The laptop is looking pretty good, I'll put wear on the keys soon.


At a glance, here's what I've managed to put together today, i threw a post process and made it a bit green for now.  I'll keep hammering away at it, once I get the materials working again.  It'll be back to looking good again.


Minor set back, but hey, it makes you faster right?

Last nights work

Fixed the normals on the Wall

Added base texture to Leaves, pots, and metal ware.

Made a typewriter, I have a hipoly, going to bake it today.

Added base metal texture

Plant base textures

Made low poly table assets and hi poly, will bake today.  Made a lot of passes at the tarp.

Made flower base texture, normals are done.

Finally made a decent tarp.  It's really hard to get the look I want.
I'll eventually take another whack at it again.


Also I made my M Logo.
Wanted it to look like custom metal work.

Gonna have time soon.

Holidays, birthdays, anniversaries and pleasant family surprises have been taking up all my time these past two weeks.  As of tomorrow I'll have some free time, I'll tackle the Tarp, make the typewriter, Keyboard, cell phone, and bake all the meshes needed.  So I should have the Secret Room at 90% by Wednesday.

All I need is to finish the wall after that and take some lighting passes.  Should be done by next week.



Now for the sci fi scene, I went ahead and just made some small Tweaks.  More to come, I'll make some signage and access panel for the door way and hallway entrance.  I really feel like tossing those guard rails and making a new one.  They just don't match the scene well.

Lighting pass

I didn't have much time today, but I figured I'd at least import everything and make a pass at lighting before bed.



Looks like I wont be able to finish by Wednesday.  Still prepping for our 5 year anniversary, gonna go to California Disney tomorrow.  Once I return I'll spend some more quality time with this piece.

If all goes even slightly to plan, I should have both scenes done in 2-3 weeks.  And I mean done, complete, fin!

Progress - Slow week

Halloween took up the week with the family.  I was able to do some work last night and the night before.

Either way, I'm going to make an effort to finish this in the next 2 days.


I got the wood where I want it, I'll eventually put some decals on the surface.

Tile is coming along

I think I got some of the materials where i want them for some assets.

I have more done that I didn't post.  Anyway, need to write a speech and present in an hour.
